Inaugurated on December 10, 1957, the Hotel Riviera is one of the most conservative hotels, recognized by many as a true museum of the 50s. It is strategically located in front the emblematic Malecón in Havana, Vedado and next to the main commercial and cultural centers of the city. Its architecture is the result of joint work of architects, artists and designers, with a strong influence of American architecture of the 50. In this sense, stands the dome of the former casino, covered with green and blue ceramics, and the Y design how it is conceived the hotel that allows all rooms have ocean views. Also recognized by its sculptures designed by artist Florencio Gelabert and the excellent woodwork.
The Riviera has 352 spacious rooms, decorated with exquisite taste, and spread over 20 floors with fascinating views of the sea and the city. Its Copa Room cabaret has staged recognized showbiz stars such as actress and dancer Ginger Rogers, who inaugurated this space. He was also visited by great figures in the arts such as Alain Delon, Alicia Alonso, Leo Brouwer and Gabriel García Márquez, among others. At present, it offers excellent salsa shows and live concerts of traditional Cuban music.
