The Inglaterra Hotel is the oldest hotel in Cuba and one of the best known and most emblematic hotels in Havana. It was founded on December 23, 1875 and declared a National Monument in 1981. Over the years, it has hosted famous figures from the world of show business and literature such as Enrico Caruso, Federico García Lorca, Rubén Darío, Frei Betto, Winston Churchill, or world-class sportsmen José Raúl Capablanca, chess world champion, and Ramón Font, among others. Located in downtown Havana, on Paseo del Prado -one of the city's most important thoroughfares-, it is right in front of the Central Park, next to the Alicia Alonso Grand Theater (home of the National Ballet of Cuba) and a few steps away from the imposing National Capitol, making this establishment a strategic place from which to discover the charm of the colonial city. For cancellations made less than 5 days prior to the guests' arrival, the Hotel may apply at its discretion its right to charge the price of one night on the reserved plan. This right will also apply to “No Shows”. Likewise, for unscheduled departures, the hotel will have the right to invoice the night of departure.
