LO VALDÉS REFUGE, is a cozy mountain shelter nestled in the Andes near Santiago, Chile. Situated at high altitude, it serves as a base for trekkers, climbers, and nature enthusiasts exploring nearby peaks such as San José Volcano. The refuge offers a welcoming environment where visitors can rest, enjoy spectacular mountain views, and experience the tranquility of the Andes. Its strategic location makes it an ideal stop for adventurers seeking both comfort and proximity to the stunning natural landscapes of central Chile.

Itinerary

  • We set out from Santiago at approximately 8:00 AM, traveling toward the spectacular Cajón del Maipo, where the scenery gradually transforms into a dramatic landscape framed by the towering Andes Mountains.
  • Along the route, we will pass through charming mountain towns, including San José de Maipo, where we will enjoy a short walk around the main square and learn about the history of this ancient valley, shaped by geological processes over more than 45 million years.
  • As we continue deeper into the canyon, the landscapes become increasingly impressive. We will admire cascading waterfalls and pause to enjoy a coffee and a sandwich while taking in panoramic views of the majestic San José Volcano.
  • Around 12:30 PM, we will arrive at the small and picturesque village of Baños Morales, surrounded by striking ocher-colored hills. Here, we will explore the area before continuing on to the Lo Valdés Refuge.
  • At the refuge, located at the foot of the volcano, we will enjoy a delicious homemade lunch in a warm and welcoming setting, accompanied by breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
  • In the afternoon, after a day filled with nature, culture, and unforgettable landscapes, we will begin our return to Santiago, arriving back at our hotel with lasting memories of an enriching journey through one of the most remarkable regions of the Chilean Andes.

  • This tour operates without a minimum number of passengers, Holiplus will reconfirm 48 hours before departure. If the supplier decides to cancel, for reasons of force majeure or adverse weather conditions, Holiplus will offer an alternative tour or fully refund the cost of your trip.
  • The shared excursion service operates with a minimum of 4 passengers.
  • This tour will not run on the following dates: December 25 to January 1.
  • The client must be aware that that modifications in the original booking may generate changes on the final quotation.
  • In general, museums in Chile are closed on Mondays.

  • Holiplus will try to avoid cancellation charges, the client must accept expenses incurred and charges established by the supplier, which may add be up to 100% of the original.
  • No show policy: 24 hours before the start of the tour: 100%.

DOCUMENTATION:

  • It is the responsibility of each passenger to carry the relevant documents for the proper completion of their trip.
  • Passengers must be informed and prepared to comply with visa, vaccination, and other regulations specific to the countries they are visiting.
  • Therefore, passengers must bear the costs incurred due to non-compliance or misinformation regarding entry and mobility regulations within the different countries they are traveling to. In the case of Chilean and foreign passengers, they must present their foreign documentation, otherwise, VAT corresponding to 19% of the fare will be charged directly to the passenger.

  • Up to 33 days before the start of the tour: 0% penalty of the total amount of the originally booked tour + USD 15 processing fee
  • 32-15 days before the start of the tour: 30% penalty of the total amount of the originally booked tour.
  • 14–10 days before the start of the tour: 50% penalty of the total amount of the originally booked tour.
  • 9–0 days before the start of the tour: 100% penalty of the total amount of the originally booked tour.
  • No Show: 100% penalty of the total amount of the originally booked tour.
