An excursion to visit the Zapata Swamp, an important bird watching area, being also the largest and best preserved wetland in Cuba and one of the largest in Latin America and the Caribbean, declared a Biosphere Reserve in 2000. This optional allows the client to enjoy a day in the waters of the “Caribbean Sea”, the possibility of appreciating its beautiful coral reefs, while interacting with its exotic flora and fauna.
Planned itinerary
- Pick up at the hotels
- Exclusive possibility of having during the trip the driving and accompaniment of a specialized guide who will encourage and explain the beauty of the environment and will allow you to know and enjoy the wonderful of our Cuban flora and fauna that you will appreciate in the trajectory.
- Departure to the Zapata Peninsula.
- Visit to the crocodile zoo where you will observe the breeding and reproduction of crocodiles in their different stages.
- Visit to the parrot breeding station.
- Arrival to Punta Perdiz. Time for snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea, lunch and open bar.
- Return to Varadero.
• Recommended: light clothing, swimwear, sunglasses, hats or caps, tennis, sandals or comfortable shoes, solar protection and photographic camera. • For the tour we recommend a water bottle.

This tour operates with no minimum number of passengers. If the supplier decides to cancel due to force majeure or bad weather conditions, Holiplus will offer you an alternative tour or refund, in full, the cost of your tour.

Clients on excursions are accompanied and assisted throughout the tour by specialized driver-guides, who cover several languages.

Pick-ups may be delayed up to 15 minutes depending on the number of hotels and the punctuality of the clients. The client must inform the sales office to avoid any inconvenience.

The jeep is shared with other tourists (up to 4 pax/jeep).

Those who wish to drive must bring their driving license.

Jeeps have standard transmission.
Cancellation and no show policy:

Cancellations more than 72 hours before the excursion: No penalty applies.

Cancellations between 72 hours and 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 25% of the total value of the excursion applies.

Cancellations less than 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 50% of the total value of the excursion applies.

NO-SHOW: a penalty of 100% of the total value of the excursion applies.

NO-SHOW with change of date: a penalty of 25% of the total value of the excursion applies and a new ticket must be purchased for the new date.

Reservation fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
