This tour allows us to know some of the secrets that make of our tobacco, the best in the world.

Description:

We will visit all the stages and processes possible to see depending of the season (seedbed, plantation, harvest, drying), besides the visits to the despalillo and the cigar factory. We use the car or taxi to go to the different places to visit:

• The cigar factory( place where the cigars are made by hand),
• The visit to a despalillo(stage between the farmer and the cigar factory, this is an unknown process for you and very important , were the leaves are fermented and selected),
• Visit to the Vueltabajo region, considered the best place of the world for the cultivation of the aromatic leaves, mainly covered tobacco, used for the wrappers that will cover the most famous cigars in the world.
• Live the unique experience of visiting Héctor Luis Prieto, the youngest Hombre Habano (Havana cigar man) in the world and his farm, where top quality leaves are produced; discover the true secrets of the tobacco among the smoke and the plantations. During the visit to the tobacco farm where we can taste a handmade cigar made by the farmer, learning about his costumes, cultures and traditions, as well as their work methods, we´ll also visit the farms where the wrappers(capas) are cultivated the finest leaves used to cover the cigar.

Hector Luis Prieto was thirty-six years old in 2007 when he was awarded the prestigious honor of Hombre Habano, an annual award for the best quality production of tobacco in the cigar industry. As the youngest Hombre Habano in history, having won the award multiple times ever since, Prieto’s San Juan y Martinez plantation provides Cuba’s Habanos S.A. with one of the most exceptional tobacco blends, grown exclusively for the country’s premium cigar brands Cohiba, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta. Almost eight years have gone by and some very notable changes have taken place on his property. What was once a dream of his has now become a reality. A lovely Ranchon with a stocked bar has been built which can accommodate a good number of people. He's all setup to receive large groups of tourists who take tours along the Tobacco Route in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba. He finally finished building his house and also had a nice Humidor/Office erected which is where he keeps his Habano's award as well as his personal stock of cigars....he's an avid smoker.

Hector Luis Prieto is regarded the most successful planting master of tobacco in cuba, and grows the best quality tobacco in his finca Quemado de Rubi.

The price includes: Specialized guide and the entrance to every place, cigar tasting.

Duration approximate of the tour: 5-6 hours.

Option: At the end is possible to have lunch in an organic farm, place unique by its beauty and quality of the food, where they grow, ecologically, all the vegetables, fruits and roots that they offer. Price of the lunch: 10 CUC x person.

Very important note: The excursion without transportation included, the client must pay an extra charge of local transport to move inside Viñales and access the sites to visit, distant from each other. from 1 to 3 pax: 50.00 cuc (by car), from 4 to 6 pax: 100.00 cuc (by car), from 7 to 9 pax: 150.00 cuc (by car).
