"HAVANA DAY" Tour
DESCRIPTION:
Havana, the capital of Cuba, was founded by the spaniard Diego Velazquez on november 16, 1519. More than 500 years ago. It was declared by Unesco in 1982 A World Heritage Site.It is one of the most beautiful cities in the Caribbean Sea, plenty of a very interesting history.
ITINARARY:
- Pick up at the hotel in Varadero between 8 to 9 am.
- Stop if you like at the highest bridge in Cuba Bacunayagua, to take amazing pictures of the very green Yumury Valley and to drink a wonderful Piña Colada, with or without our Rum Havana Club 7 Years Old.
- One hour later we take the Tunel of Havana, and incredible way to go into the city down the bay. It was finished by a french company in 1958.
- We have a panoramic trip close to the famous sea wall El Malecon de la Havana going to the modern part of the city. El Malecon was made at the begining of the 20 century.
- We visit the Revolutionary Square in order to know about the goverment buildinds around, our political system and to have the oportunity of optain the famous picture of the face of our heroe Ernesto Che Guevara and the greatest man who was born in Cuba, our National Heroe Jose Marti.
- It will be time to visit the Down Town of Havana. In must cases walking or in a horse car.
- The National Capitol, the Big Theater of Havana, the hotels Inglaterra, Iberostar Parque Central and Plaza surrounding the Central Park will be included. At that time you will take unforgettable pictures of the most beautiful old cars.
- Close there is the Floridita Bar, one of the best bars in the World, the cradle of the Daiquiri, visited during 30 years by the famous writer Ernest Hemingway, who wrote many books including “The old man and the sea” which allowed him to received in 1954 The Novel Price of Literature. In front of the bar there is the most known Street in Havana, the Obispo Street.
- It´s also possible to go into the Revolutionary Museum or the Fine Arts Museum during the morning.
- When we finished in this área we go directly to visit some of the fortresses of Havana, made all of them by spaniards during the 16, 17 and 18 centuries.
- Lunch time in a nice enviroment and authentic private restaurant with many choices including the fresh cuban lobster and the very tasty grilled pork or chicken.
- During the afternoon we can visit the Museum of RUM Havana Club (subject to availability) and for sure the oldest parts of the city. You will see the Catedral of Havana, The Palace of the Captains Generals, nowdays the Museum of the City located in the Arms Square. - Also the incredible San Francisco de Asis Square with the beautiful Fountain of the Lions and the church. Nearby there is “ La Plaza Vieja” ( The Old Square).
- We can go on top of the Ambos Mundos hotel, where Hemingway used to live between 1932 y 1937 and there you will have a very different view of the city. It is also possible to go into the Hemingway´s room 511, now as a little museum.
- After this you can have a family time or a romatic time, totally along.
- Between 4 to 5 pm we comeback to Varadero.
