"TREKKING SUNSET IN THE VALLEY OF SILENCE" Tour
The Viñales Valley, a landscape declared a National Park since 1979 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, is undoubtedly one of the most visited sites in Cuba. The Viñales Valley is an impressive exclusive natural landscape nestled in the Sierra de los Órganos, in the westernmost area of Cuba, where the famous mogotes, small steep limestone elevations with rounded tops, emerge. The surface of Viñales is the living example of a karstic valley that exists in all of Cuba. The geography and the enviable landscape of the Viñales Valley has its origin during the Cretaceous period, about 100 million years ago. Since then, with the passage of time, water has been modeling the rock, both on the surface and in the subsoil, creating large caves and the mogotes formations that are the unique formations of this area of the country.
Throughout the journey through the Valley of Silence, we can enjoy at all times, the impressive mogotes, the native flora of the area as the male pine and the mazorquilla, as well as the prehistoric palm palm palm Corcho, declared a National Monument.
An excursion to Valle del Silencio includes visits to local tobacco and coffee plantations and tasting of local beverages. On top of a hill there is a beautiful natural lookout point from which you can enjoy breathtaking views of 3 different valleys. The excursion usually lasts more than 4 hours, depending on the time clients need to spend in each of the visited places.
