GUAMA, has been for years, one of the most emblematic places of tourism in Cuba, settled in the western region of the island, in the south of the province of Matanzas, in the Zapata Swamp and pedestal of nature travel, for its position within the largest wetland in the Caribbean Sea region. It is a site that is reached by speedboat, crossing its varied channels, full of a great biodiversity of flora and fauna, to access an inland lagoon that from the first moment illusions the visitor in the sense of catching excellent photographs, arriving at the end to the center of GUAMA itself, a hotel on pontoons, wooden roads to allow access by swampy places and several sculptures of aborigines in their work at that time, give the perfect touch of distinction to the place. The hotel is located on 12 islands covering more than 10 thousand square meters, all artificial with six areas, including restaurant and swimming pool, has 36 standard rooms of guano and wood on stilts, and all the comforts, with access by bridges and roads, or by boats and water bicycles.
Its most important and emblematic attraction is its Taino Village, the name of an aboriginal group found by the Spaniards when they arrived in Cuba on their voyages of discovery of America. It is an excursion that allows to appreciate vivid statues to natural size, in the positions of aborigines hunting, fishing or in diverse activities of their moment.
