A little more than an hour from the historic city of Bayamo, located in the exuberant nature in the heart of the Sierra Maestra, very close to the Comandancia de La Plata, where Fidel Castro Ruz, had his rebel camp in the most intricate of the mountains in the area. You will be able to go trekking enjoying impressive landscapes, ride horses, swim in the crystalline waters of the natural pools of the Yara River, but the most important thing is that you will be able to know first hand and discover how the daily life of the farmers of the area goes by.

Some of the local farmers helped the rebel army in the last revolutionary war of independence, although due to their age, logically, very few of them are still alive. The excursion "THE LIFE OF THE FARMER IN THE SIERRA MAESTRA starts walking at the point where more than 60 years ago a battlefield between the Rebel Army and the army of Fulgencio Batista took place, near that place, a simple memorial was erected and visited during the tour, where a rebel fighter was wounded and died in combat. Later, guests walk along the banks of the Yara River, passing through traditional coffee plantations and agro-ecological farms. You will be able to taste a delicious coffee without sugar or sweetened with honey (100% organic). During the tour we will visit 2 historical sites related to the struggle for the Cuban revolution, one is the house of a rebel woman and the other site, related to the starting point of the historical invasion from east to west of a rebel army column led by one of the main guerrilla leaders. Then if you wish to bathe and refresh in the waters of the Yara River you will have a 30 minute stop. Lunch will be served at a local farmer's house with an impressive view of the Sierra Maestra valley and then you will return to the point where the excursion started in the morning.
