"Walking around Cienfuegos" Tour
In this tour we will visit the places of greatest historical and cultural interest in Cienfuegos. We will get in touch with the daily life of the people of Cienfuegos, and where the main commercial centers are located. You will learn about the founding process of the city, the only one founded by French immigrants in Cuba at the beginning of the 19th century.
Planned itinerary
- The tour begins at the statue of the most famous Cuban singer Benny Moré located in the Paseo del Prado and continues along the boulevard of Cienfuegos, the commercial center of the city where visitors can buy the finest local handicrafts.
- Afterwards, we arrive at Martí Park, the old Plaza de Armas and the place where the city was founded, from where the main buildings of the historic center can be seen, such as the Purísima Concepción Cathedral Church, the Cuban Fund of Cultural Goods, El Palatino Inn, the House of Culture and others. A visit to the centenary Tomás Terry Theater and the Provincial Museum is included.
- At the end of the tour, you will walk along the Santa Isabel boulevard, the old commercial corridor of the city until you reach the royal pier.
- Afterwards, you will walk along the boardwalk to the residential area of Punta Gorda, where you can admire some of the city's representative architectural jewels such as the Cienfuegos Club, the Palacio Azul and the Palacio de Valle, as well as the Hotel Jagua.
