Alexandria is a port city located on the Mediterranean Sea in northern Egypt founded in 331 BC. C. by Alexander the Great. THE NEW LIBRARY DE ALEJANDRIA, occupies an area of ​​36,700 m2 and is located in a building whose design symbolizes the Egyptian sun illuminating the world and civilization. The letters, ideas and theories contained in this ancient building lived in the imaginary and Gyptian for two millennia, until in 1989 the construction, financed by the UN, of the new Bibliotheca Alexandrina began. After 12 years of work, in 2001 this new space of 80 thousand square meters was inaugurated, of which 20 thousand correspond to the reading room, the largest in the world. ABU AL-ABBAS AL-MURSI is the largest mosque in Alexandria. With its cream-colored façade, four large domes, arabesque designs and a high-rise minaret, it is a feast for the eyes. It was built in 1775 to commemorate the life of an Andalusian Sheikh who was buried in this place and is one of the most visited mosques on the white Mediterranean coast. When visiting this spectacular sanctuary, take a close look at the gallery of elongated arches, the eight monolithic granite columns and the beautiful marble floor.
