"HAVANA´S COUNTRYSIDE" Bike Tour

Today we will embark on an e-bike journey from the bustling metropolis to the countryside along the west coast. This part of Havana is beyond the classic tourist routes and is therefore very original and attractive.

The route puts us in direct contact with the everyday Cuban culture as it is lived in its deepest interior. Close to the fascinating metropolis of Havana, the world seems to have stopped in its tracks. There is almost no traffic; bicycles, horse-drawn vehicles and bicycles are the most common means of transport. On our way to the fishing villages that make up the west, we will make some stops to see some of the work of some of Cuba's best known artists, this will show us great contrasts within this tour.

Itinerary

• Our guide awaits us at 9 am with the electric bicycles in the 21st Street # 507A between D and E, Vedado. As alternatively, an individual meeting point can be established for closed groups.
• Our first destination will be the Kcho Museum and its social projects with Google.
• Then we will pass through the embassy district, the Convention Centre, where many national and international conventions and political events take place. An extremely impressive contrast to Cuba's classic living conditions awaits us, and this will be part of the essence that we will see on this tour.
• We will advance to Jaimanitas, along the Club Havana and visit "Fusterlandia", where we will see a famous Cuban artist, strongly inspired by Gaudi and Santeria in his work.
• From Jaimanitas, we will continue to Marina Hemingway. Cuba's largest yachting complex, named in honor to Ernest Hemingway, where we will have the last internet reception of the next few hours in order to publish the first impressions.
• We will say "goodbye" to the Internet and move on the Pan-American Highway, towards Santa Fe. The small beaches and the original living conditions along the Santa Fe promenade will be long-lasting experiences.
• On the way to Baracoa we will pass the Latin American School of Medicine, where many students from different countries of the region have been trained and then perform part of their social service in Cuba and other countries of the world. The fishing village of Baracoa has an incredible charm and, fortunately for us, is practically unknown to tourists.
• From Thursday to Sunday we go to our fish and seafood restaurant, which is hard to beat in terms of location and cuisine. Here there is also the possibility of bathing. From Monday to Wednesday, for lunch and rest, we will an agro-ecological farm, includes a small tour of the farm.
• Afterwards, we will return with the collected impressions to Havana. The Hemingway Bar, in the Hemingway Marina, will be our last stop on this day for a short recovery.

• Please, show up in the meeting point 15 minutes before the time to begin the tour.
• The program is subject to change. Lunch: Location and time may vary according to the availability.
• All participants must travel with their own personal insurance.
• The guest must have good urban cycling experience. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
• Attenders should can to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).
• It is recommended to wear ligh clothing. Sneaker, closed shoes or tennis shoes, comfortable and appropriate for walking outdoors. Sun glasses, sun protection. Rain can be expected at any time.
• At the meeting point, we will provide a short introduction to the e-bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic
