Spectacular excursion that will allow you to enjoy a beautiful horseback ride through the Valle de los Ingenios. Together with the city of Trinidad, it was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1988. The Valle de los Ingenios is a majestic extension of wonderful natural valleys that were once the epicenter of processed sugar production and slavery in Cuba. A place where powerful Trinidadian families used brutal slave labor to fuel their economic success. Today, the remnants of that industry serve as a reminder of its complicated history. The remnants of sugar plantations, barracks and haciendas are places of memory: cultural landmarks that represent both the suffering and injustices of the past, and the resilience and strength of the people who were affected by it.
Itinerary
- Pick up by Jeep from hotels on the Ancon Peninsula or Trinidad.
- Departure from the city making a stop at the Mirador del Valle de los Ingenios where you can enjoy from the heights the wonderful landscape full of green cane fields declared a World Heritage Site since 1988.
- Specialized explanation of the sugar industry in Cuba, possibility to take pictures.
- Jeep ride to the entrance of the valley where a delicious sugar cane guarapo awaits you to start your horseback ride through the valley inside, appreciating the diversity of vegetation in the area, bordering a nearby river and then arriving at the Hacienda El Abanico that recreates the life of a sugar family in colonial times.
- Creole lunch at Hacienda El Abanico.
- Return to the city.

Cancellation and no show policy:
- Cancellations more than 72 hours before the tour: No penalty applies.
- Cancellations between 72 hours and 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 25% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- Cancellations less than 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 50% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- NO-SHOW: a penalty of 100% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- Reservation fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
