"SUNDAY MASS IN REMEDIOS" Tour
Description:
If there is any symbol that identifies the city of Remedios, it is its San Juan Bautista Major Parish Church, an institution that stands majestically and well preserved at one side of the central park of the eighth village founded by the Spaniards in Cuba. The church was built in 1550 and takes its name from the town's patron saint, San Juan Bautista. All you have to do is go inside and you'll find a beautiful wooden altar, laminated in 22-carat gold and in the Spanish baroque style. In 1954, the restoration work in this place, which lasted about 10 years, ended. That is why the National Congress of History declared this church a National Monument. This place is permanently visited by national and international tourists who come to appreciate its preserved and heritage assets.
