"SCUBA DIVING IN BAHÍA DE COCHINOS - PENÍNSULA DE ZAPATA" Tour
Scuba Diving in Bahía de Cochinos, Matanzas, Cuba: Discover one of Cuba’s most spectacular underwater destinations with Scuba Diving in Bahía de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs), located in the province of Matanzas. Renowned for its exceptional visibility, warm waters, and pristine marine ecosystems, this area offers world-class diving experiences suitable for both certified divers and beginners seeking an introduction to the underwater world. Bahía de Cochinos is famous for its dramatic drop-offs, coral walls, underwater caves, and an impressive diversity of marine life. Divers can explore vibrant coral formations, sponges, and schools of tropical fish, as well as encounter barracudas, groupers, moray eels, and sea turtles. Thanks to minimal currents and excellent water clarity—often exceeding 30 meters—the bay provides ideal conditions for photography and relaxed, immersive dives.
Guided by professional dive instructors, each dive prioritizes safety while allowing ample time to explore the area’s unique underwater landscapes. Shore diving is a highlight of the region, offering easy access to deep waters just a short swim from the coastline, making it both convenient and rewarding. Whether you are an experienced diver or discovering scuba diving for the first time, Scuba Diving in Bahía de Cochinos delivers an unforgettable marine adventure in one of Cuba’s most naturally preserved coastal environments. This experience perfectly combines adventure, tranquility, and the extraordinary beauty of the Caribbean Sea.
Cuba's virgin nature has a particular charm in the case of the sea beds, which is why many people come to the island interested in diving or simply snorkeling. The beautiful beaches of Playa Giron and Playa Larga are famous destinations with charming hidden dive sites; Cenotes, reefs, caves, and more. Playa Giron has a lot of dives to visit from caverns to cenotes and coral reefs. The most famous dive is Punta Perdiz, a tempting reef where many fish congregate. There are two main sites here, and both have equally incredible views. Due to its proximity to the reef, most of the dives at Playa Giron can be done from the shore, so no boat is needed. Recommended dive sites: El Ebano, 35 Aniversario, Casimba Dagmar and Casimba Ilona, Punta Perdiz 1 and 2, El Tanque, El Cenote, El Brinco 1 and 2 and La Cueva de los Peces.
