"El Brujito" Trail

Soroa, is known as the Rainbow of Cuba because among its main attractions is the spectacular waterfall of 22 meters high that invites you to take a refreshing bath at any time of year and that with the rays of the sun in some hours of the day you can appreciate a rainbow in its waters. A place of great richness, variety and excellence of its flora and fauna. It also has the largest orchid garden in the country where you can find more than 750 different varieties of orchids and ferns.

Walking through paths with exuberant vegetation, bordering rivers and waterfalls of crystalline waters is to have the certainty that beautiful places really exist and that human efforts to protect the natural environment persist. Soroa, located in the Province of Artemisa, is the ideal place for these tours, which is why we have designed a series of tours through various trails in this place for your enjoyment.

"El Brujito" Trail, a route of approximately 17 km where visitors can interact with nature and biodiversity of the area. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe landscapes from the natural viewpoints that exist in the area, you can also observe various species of birds, including the Priotelus Temnurus (Tocororo), Todus Multicolor (Carta Cuba) and many more. The batey is located in a small valley, the stay in the place would be to take some light food, contemplate the area and contact with the mountaineers to continue climbing through the bed of Rio Hondo to "Los Hoyos".

Itinerary

  • Welcome cocktail reception at the facility's Pool Bar. During this event, the musical group "Horizontes" will be present. Brief explanation of the activities to be carried out during the day.
  • Transition zone of the Biosphere. Explanation of the Kyoto Protocol and the Turquino-Manati Plan, as well as their close interrelationship in sustainable development projects.
  • La Pluma" Farm. Explanation of the history of the 19th century coffee plantation in the area, based on its ruins.
  • La Rosita" Farm. In this place lived an old mambí who fought next to Maceo and died at the age of 103, grandfather of the lady who still lives in the house, so the anecdotes about the war and about the life of the slaves during the time of the colony are guaranteed. You will be able to walk around the ruins of the place where there is still a tool that was used to make the slaves have an abortion.
  • Community "El Brujito". Community located in the mountainous area, is a group of houses of farmers dedicated to coffee cultivation, raising livestock and forestry. The Battle of Sora took place here in 1895. You will be able to listen to anecdotes about the war of independence and about the figure of the Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo.
  • Return to the Hotel.
