We propose to make an adventure to La Gran Piedra, huge volcanic rock, 51 meters long and 25-30 meters wide, with an estimated weight of 63,000 tons, located on top of a mountain at 1225 meters above the sea level. Natural lookout where you can see the Sierra Maestra. To ascend to the stone, the visitor is confronted with the exciting adventure of climbing, shrouded in dense fog, 452 steps, escorted by a dense vegetation of ferns, orchids and other species, that perfume the environment. At the "The Isabelica" Museum you will find one of the traces left by French immigrants in this area, coffee culture and a legacy of traditions. Just one kilometer is the Ave del Paraíso Botanical Garden, where they are cultivated an exceptional basis, species like the Ave del Paraíso, dahlias, magnolias and other, using the microclimate that prevails in the area. You can also enjoy a delicious Creole lunch.

Itinerary:

• Pick up in Jeep 4 x 4 at the hotels according to schedule and departure to the nature areas of Santiago de Cuba.
• Panoramic drive along the Baconao road towards La Gran Piedra.
• You will enjoy the 14 km ascent to La Gran Piedra.
• Visit to the Ave del Paraíso Garden, a place scented by the cypress pine and the fragrance of the flowers.
• Trekking up to La Gran Piedra viewpoint. You will have to climb 459 steps enjoying the different types of ferns, listening to the birds singing and always accompanied by the Calysto Sybilla butterfly.
• Visit to the La Isabelica museum. You will learn about the history of the place, as well as the process of harvesting and preparation of coffee.
