Description:
Located in the southwestern tip of Cuba, the Desembarco del Granma National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protects pristine lakes and saltwater lagoons. It is also the site where Fidel and a band of revolutionaries landed in Cuba on December 2, 1956 after their exile in Mexico. Desembarco del Granma National Park is located 12 miles (20 km) south of Niquero. Desembarco del Granma National Park is home to virgin forests and ancient cacti, some of which are more than 400 years old. A total of 512 plant species have been identified within the park, 60 percent of which are endemic. There are also 110 species of birds, 44 species of reptiles, 13 species of animals and 7 species of amphibians.
Itinerary
- Pick up at the hotel and transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle.
- Panoramic tour of the villages of Pilón and Niquero.
- Visit to the natural archaeological trail "El Guafe" with observation of the endemic flora and fauna. Visit to the caves that served as refuge for the aborigines.
- Visit to the fishing community of Cabo Cruz.
- Visit to the Vargas Lighthouse, a colonial construction from the 11th century.
- Visit to the historical monument "Portada de la Libertad".
- Tour of the places related to the landing of the Granma in 1956.
- Visit to the memorial of the Granma Yacht.
- Time for photos at various points of the excursion.
- Time for lunch.
- Return to the hotels of origin at 04:30 pm.

- This tour operates with a minimum number of passengers. Holiplus will reconfirm 48 hours before the departure of the excursion. If the supplier decides to cancel, because the minimum number of passengers is not reached, Holiplus will offer you an alternative excursion or fully reimburse the cost of your excursion.
- The jeep is shared with other tourists (up to 4 pax/jeep).
- Whoever wishes to drive must have a driving license.
- The jeeps have mechanical transmission.

- A supplement of 10.00 USD per pax will be applied to clients who require professional chauffeur service in the jeep.
Cancellation and no show policy:
- Cancellations more than 72 hours before the excursion: No penalty applies.
- Cancellations between 72 hours and 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 25% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- Cancellations less than 48 hours before the excursion: a penalty of 50% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- NO-SHOW: a penalty of 100% of the total value of the excursion applies.
- Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
