Cayo Jutías, located in the municipality of Minas de Matahambre, north of the province of Pinar del Río on the island of Cuba, is a small island of just over 4 km² located several meters from the coast, connected to the mainland by a 6.7 km long embankment that connects with the Mantua-Santa Lucía highway. Cayo Jutías is part of the system of islands known as the Colorados archipelago. Cayo Jutías is one of the keys with the most virgin beaches in Cuba. It has a beautiful beach called Playa las Estrellas, with white sands and turquoise waters, famous for the numerous starfish that inhabit its waters, making it a perfect place for snorkeling and where you can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Caribbean Sea coast.

The sunsets in Cayo Jutías are spectacular, with the water transforming into pink and orange tones, offering unforgettable views. On the island you can also rent equipment for water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling, and enjoy the local gastronomy in the available restaurants.

Cayo Mégano de Casiguas, also known as Cayo Paraíso, is a small island located on the north coast of the municipality of Bahía Honda, in the province of Pinar del Río, Cuba. This islet is part of the archipelago of Los Colorados, composed of about 160 small islands, most of them uninhabited. In spite of hurricanes, Cayo Mégano has maintained its natural beauty, offering virgin beaches and crystal-clear waters ideal for activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling. The key is located approximately 9 kilometers northeast of Cayo Levisa and 24 kilometers from the town of La Palma. Its proximity to Cayo Jutías allows visitors to combine a visit to both keys in a single excursion. These excursions usually include activities such as mangrove navigation, starfish watching and coral reef exploration.

Itinerary

• Departure in the 4x4 cars from the Casa del Veguero “Tourist Reception Center of the Ecotur Travel Agency”, here you will enjoy a Cuban cocktail and the farmer will elaborate a tobacco, with leaves from his vega, located in the world famous “VALLEY OF VIÑALES”. This is a “CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF HUMANITY” and the first Geopark in Cuba and Latin America.
• The tour is through the area of Cuajaní to the town of Pons, enjoying during the journey of the whimsical figures of the mogotes, as well as Intramontanos Valleys, highlighting above all these whimsical forms, “La Peña”, a site surrounded by legends and stories of palenqueria and Afro-Cuban culture.
• Interpretative stop at La Loma del Viento, located at the entrance of the town of Minas de Matahambre. From here you can see both the Sierra del Guachinango and the famous beaches of Cayo Mégano and Cayo Jutias.
• Once in the town itself you will visit the Monument to the miner, which is a tribute to the thousands of people who worked in this place, considered one of the deepest in America.
• Arrival at Cayo Jutias, briefing with the boat guides.
• Departure for the Bojeo to Cayo Jutias and through the southern channels to Cayo Mégano. Upon arrival to this paradisiacal place we proceed to:
• Time of stay for the enjoyment of the beach of great quality and natural beauty, as well as the sandbanks that surround Cayo Megano.
• Seafood lunch, semi buffet in Cayo Megano itself.
• Return to Cayo Jutias.
• Return to Viñales.
