Located in the neighborhood of La Otilia, in Buey Arriba, Granma and founded on December 31, 1982, the Casa Museo La Otilia is the site set by Commander Ernesto Che Guevara as the last command post of Column number 4, Ciro Redondo of the Rebel Army. Inaugurated as an extension of the Municipal Museum of Buey Arriba on October 8, 1983, objects and uniforms belonging to combatants who interacted directly with the Heroic Guerrilla were kept there. Photos, documents, personal objects, among others, recall Che, an Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla, a figure that arouses great passions in world public opinion, converted into a symbol that represents the struggle against social injustices.
We start in Bayamo at your hotel or casa. After 1 hour drive we arrive to Buey Arriba, a country side town, which local museum holds very important information linked to the last war; Ernesto Che Guevara was in these mountains. La Otilia is not far from there is a very pleasant 4 km walk along the river side and green forest. This place is small but interesting. Not very famous located in the mountains make this pace worth the visit before it gets full of people.
