From the walls of the Puritama River, diverse minerals emanate that possess healing qualities for rheumatism, and constitute a therapeutic bath. This is how the Termas de Puritama arise, an oasis in the middle of the desert.
Quebrada de Puritama, located 30 km north of the town and 3,500 meters above sea level. Here we will find the Puritama River, which rises directly from the Andes Mountains. Thanks to the volcanic activity its waters take temperature and flow subway, until it appears to the surface of the earth with medicinal properties, due to its minerals and temperatures between 30°C and 33°C.
The Puritama Hot Springs flow in the middle of the rocks, forming pools that have been conditioned to be enjoyed by visitors. The place has bathrooms and dressing rooms connected to the pools by means of wooden walkways.
