In this excursion we will be able to know the richness of the Atacameña or Likan Antai culture, where we will obtain rich information as far as who they were and how the inhabitants of this zone lived, from pre-Columbian times to the colony.
Pukará de Quitor, a pre-Hispanic fortress built in the 17th century by the Atacameños. Today it represents an archeological monument and its historical importance lies in the "Battle of Quitor", one of the first confrontations between the Spanish and indigenous people, at the beginning of the conquest.
Tulor Village, a place that in spite of the time, has been preserved thanks to the natural conditions of the site. This ancestral construction is probably the first settlement in the Salar de Atacama basin.
Itinerary
- Departure from San Pedro de Atacama, to the most important archaeological sites in the area, where we will visit the Pukará de Quitor.
- Our stop at the Atacameña Farm will allow you to share with a local family friendly with tourism to taste some local delicacies and learn about their agricultural traditions.
- Next, we will know the beginning of the so called "San Pedro Culture" in the Village of Tulor
- Finally, we will visit the Church of San Pedro and the Father Le Paige Museum, where there is a collection of pre-Hispanic pieces and mummies that make the visit very interesting to the passenger.
- Return to the hotel.
