Overview

¨CUBA ELECTRONIC TOURIST VISA¨ (E-VISA)

Traveling to Cuba in 2025 is easier and more modern thanks to the digitization of the immigration process, but it requires certain mandatory steps to be followed. Preparing your e-Visa, D'Viajeros form, and medical insurance in advance will ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience upon arrival on the island.

To enter Cuba as a tourist, all travelers must meet the following requirements:

  1. Valid passport: Valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
  2. Electronic tourist visa (E-VISA): Mandatory since July 2024.
  3. Digital D'Viajeros form: Must be completed before travel.
  4. Travel medical insurance: Mandatory and must include international medical coverage.
  5. Round-trip ticket: Required as proof of departure from the country.

The Cuban e-Visa replaces the old physical tourist card. It is an official digital document issued by the Cuban immigration authorities that authorizes entry into the country for tourism purposes.

Validity of the e-Visa

  • Duration: Up to 90 days stay, extendable once (total 180 days maximum).
  • Type: Valid for a single entry.

To apply for the e-Visa, you only need to:

  1. Fill in your personal and travel details.
  2. Make the payment online.
  3. You will receive the electronic visa code by email, which you will need to complete the D'Viajeros Form.

One week before your travel date, you will only need to:

  1. Complete the D'Viajeros form online (official website: https://www.dviajeros.mitrans.gob.cu) by entering your visa number or simply filling in the passenger information from the link sent to you with your visa number.
  2. Download the QR code generated after submitting the form.
  3. Present the QR code and your passport upon arrival in Cuba.

Note:

Countries with which Cuba has visa waiver agreements are exempt.

Business trips, journalism, extended stays, or work require special visas, so you should contact the Cuban Consulates or Embassies.

Citizens of the following countries must apply for an A-1 visa to enter Cuba: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Iraq, Iran, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, and Yemen. Exceptions for these citizens if they have any of the following valid documents: U.S. residence or Green Card, European Union residence, multiple-entry visa for the U.S., Canada, or the Schengen area.

  • Print or download your electronic documents (e-Visa, QR D'Viajeros, and medical insurance).
  • Verify that your names match exactly on all documents.
  • If traveling with minors, be sure to bring the necessary notarized permissions. Airlines will verify that you have completed this form before boarding. If you have not done so, you will need to complete it at the airport of origin, which may delay your process.
