"CITY TOUR TRINIDAD WITH ELECTRIC SCOOTER" Tour
Trinidad, the third town founded in Cuba in 1514, was declared a World Heritage Site in 1988 due to its remarkable state of preservation. It boasts a rich socio-cultural and economic history spanning over five centuries. We invite you to take a walking tour through the streets of its historic center, where you can experience life in this city from centuries past to the present day. Enjoy valuable buildings showcasing its architecture, learn about the cultures that converged in Trinidad, and appreciate the economic development it achieved, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries. For our clients with reduced mobility, the tour begins with a pick-up from their accommodation on a comfortable Gran Canaria electric scooter, offering excellent stability in our historic centers and a range of up to 45 km.
Itinerary:
- The tour begins with a walk along Maceo Street (Gutiérrez) to Piro Guinart Street (Boca), where we will turn right and head towards the founding plaza (Plaza del Jigüe), located at the intersection of Piro Guinart Street (Boca) and Rubén Martínez Villena Street (Real del Jigüe). During this walk, aspects related to the town's predominant architecture, building preservation, customs from the first inhabitants to the present day, and socio-cultural and service centers located along the route will be explained. Once at Plaza del Jigüe, the founding of the town will be discussed, as well as the first street in Trinidad (Real del Jigüe), all at the foot of the tree of the same name. From here, we will visit the "Canchánchara," a tavern where you can sample the city's typical drink of the same name. The origin and composition of the drink, as well as the history of the establishment, will also be described.
- Next, we will proceed along Calle Real del Jigüe to its intersection with Simón Bolívar (Desengaño), right where the Plaza Mayor is located. Here, we will describe its history, as well as that of the surrounding buildings. A visit to one of the museums included in the tour is suggested.
- Guests will have free time to visit one of the cultural centers in the historic center (Casa de la Música, Casa de la Trova, Palenque de los Congos Reales); all located very close to the Plaza Mayor. You will also have the opportunity to do some shopping.
- Return to the starting point.e variety of colorful fish species, including butterflyfish, wrasses, and damselfish.
- Return to the city.
