Itinerary
- We will leave Santiago early in the morning, around 8:00 a.m., traveling approximately 60 kilometers toward the renowned Cascada de las Ánimas Nature Sanctuary and adventure center. This remarkable destination is set within the scenic Cajón del Maipo Valley, following the course of the Maipo River, one of the region’s most important waterways, where multiple rivers and streams converge before continuing their journey to the Pacific Ocean.
- Upon arrival, we will find ourselves immersed in one of South America’s leading adventure tourism areas, celebrated for its striking landscapes, vibrant natural colors, and impressive mountain surroundings. This region has earned international recognition as one of the continent’s premier adventure destinations, offering an ideal setting for outdoor exploration and connection with nature.
- Our experience includes an approximately two-hour horseback ride along natural trails that wind through the valley. Along the way, we may enjoy views of cascading waterfalls and, with some luck, catch sight of the majestic Andean condor soaring above the peaks. The ride will take us to a broad, open area known as the Meseta, a plateau that stands out for its natural beauty and serenity.
- This area has benefited from extensive reforestation and irrigation efforts, featuring thousands of native and introduced trees that enhance the lush landscape. Here, we will pause to rest, relax, and take in the peaceful surroundings before beginning our descent.
- To conclude this memorable experience, we will enjoy a traditional Chilean barbecue, complete with side dishes and a selection of fresh, fruity local wines. In the afternoon, at approximately 4:00 p.m., we will begin our return journey to Santiago, bringing with us lasting memories of a day filled with nature, adventure, and authentic Chilean flavors.
