“ANCUD & PUÑIHUIL IN CHILOÉ ISLAND” TOUR

Welcome to the enchanting island of Chiloé, a land where myth, history, and jaw-dropping natural beauty intertwine. If you are looking for a destination that feeds your soul with culture and thrills your spirit with nature, the gateway cities of Ancud and the nearby natural sanctuary of Puñihuil are an absolute must-visit.

Ancud: A Colorful Coastal Charmer Perched on the northern coast of Chiloé Island, Ancud is a vibrant port town that perfectly captures the rustic, mystical essence of Chiloé.

Puñihuil: A Wild Wildlife Paradise Just a short, incredibly scenic drive from the cobblestone streets of Ancud lies Puñihuil, a place where the lush Chilote forests meet the wild Pacific Ocean. This area is famous for one reason: The Penguins.

The Boat Adventure: Jump aboard a small, maneuverable boat piloted by a local fisherman-guide. As you bounce across the waves toward the rugged, rocky islets, the anticipation builds. Soon, you’ll spot them—hundreds of adorable penguins waddling along the rocks, diving into the icy water, and standing guard over their nests. More Than Just Penguins: Keep your eyes peeled! The islands of Puñihuil are also a sanctuary for South American sea lions lounging on the rocks, elegant pelicans diving for fish, and occasionally, the elusive Chungungo (South American sea otter). Rugged Coastal Beauty: Even if you aren't an avid birder, the sheer beauty of the Puñihuil coastline is worth the trip. Massive rock formations rise dramatically out of the turquoise water, surrounded by pristine, windswept beaches.

The Perfect Pairing Ancud and Puñihuil offer the ultimate travel contrast: the warmth of a historic, culturally rich town paired with the raw, untamed energy of a wildlife sanctuary. Together, they provide an authentic Chiloé experience that you won't find anywhere else on earth.

Pack your camera, bring a windbreaker, and get ready to fall in love with the magic of southern Chile!
