PUNTA ARENAS, is a city near the southernmost tip of Chilean Patagonia. It is located on the Strait of Magellan, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and is often used as a base for excursions to the surrounding nature and Antarctica. The Plaza Muñoz Gamero has a monument to the explorer Fernando de Magallanes and the Nao Victoria Museum includes a replica of one of his galleons.
Itinerary
Departure from our hotel in Punta Arenas to Plaza Muñoz Gamero, where we will visit the Monument to Hernando de Magallanes with the Selknam natives. Legend has it that the person who kisses the native's foot will return to the city.
Then, we will go up to Cerro de la Cruz to enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city and the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego.
We will also visit the Punta Arenas Free Zone, with the possibility of buying various products at very convenient prices.
Finally, we will arrive at the Salesiano Maggiorino Borgatello Museum, where an ethnological and natural history sample is exhibited, along with handicrafts from the Yaganes, Onas and Selknam Indians.
Finally, we will return to our hotel in Punta Arenas.
