"FULL DAY TREKKING BASE TORRES DEL PAINE" Tour
TORRES DEL PAINE NATIONAL PARK – CHILE. Located in the heart of the breathtaking Chilean Patagonia, Torres del Paine National Park is widely recognized as one of the most extraordinary natural destinations on Earth. Renowned for its dramatic landscapes, pristine wilderness, and unmatched scenic beauty, the park captivates travelers from around the world who come seeking adventure, photography, and a deep connection with nature. As a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Torres del Paine represents the wild essence of Patagonia, where glaciers, mountains, lakes, forests, and open plains combine to create truly unforgettable scenery. The park’s most iconic landmarks are the famous granite towers known as the Torres del Paine, towering rock formations that rise spectacularly above the Patagonian landscape and have become an international symbol of southern Chile. Equally impressive are the majestic Cuernos del Paine, the vivid blue waters of Lake Pehoé and Lake Nordenskjöld, and the immense Grey Glacier, whose floating icebergs create one of the park’s most unforgettable sights. Rivers, waterfalls, valleys, and glacial lakes appear throughout the region, shaped over thousands of years by ice, wind, and extreme Patagonian weather conditions.
Wildlife is another remarkable highlight of Torres del Paine. Throughout the park, visitors may encounter guanacos wandering across the steppe, foxes moving through the valleys, rheas crossing the plains, and powerful Andean condors gliding above the mountains. In more remote areas, the elusive puma also inhabits this extraordinary ecosystem. The diversity of landscapes — from lenga forests and alpine terrain to vast Patagonian grasslands — creates a rich and fragile natural environment unlike anywhere else in South America. Torres del Paine offers experiences for both adventurous travelers and visitors seeking scenic exploration. Hiking enthusiasts can discover legendary routes such as the W Trek and the O Circuit, while others can enjoy panoramic viewpoints, shorter walks, boat excursions, horseback riding, and wildlife observation throughout the park. Every season transforms the scenery in a unique way, from vibrant summer colors and extended daylight to snow-covered mountains and dramatic winter landscapes.
Despite its remote location, the park provides excellent infrastructure and professional tourism services that allow visitors to comfortably experience one of the wildest regions of Patagonia. More than just a destination, Torres del Paine is a place of immense natural power and beauty — a landscape where glaciers, mountains, lakes, and endless horizons create an unforgettable journey into the heart of the Patagonian wilderness.
Itinerary
Discover the breathtaking granite towers of the “Eighth Wonder of the World” on one of the most iconic trekking experiences in Chilean Patagonia. This unforgettable adventure takes you deep into the spectacular landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park, where mountains, rivers, forests, and glaciers create one of the most impressive natural settings on Earth.
- Our journey begins very early in the morning, departing from Punta Arenas (pick-up from accommodations within the urban area starting at approximately 3:30 AM) or from Puerto Natales at 7:00 AM, heading toward Torres del Paine National Park.
- Upon arrival at the park’s Welcome Center, our guides will provide the necessary equipment recommendations, safety information, and briefing before beginning the trek. The excursion follows an approximately 11-kilometer mountain trail leading to the famous Base Torres viewpoint, divided into three main stages.
- First Stage: The trek begins with an uphill hike of approximately 1.5 hours toward the “Paso de los Vientos” (Windy Pass), offering spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and landscapes. We will then descend toward the Refugio Chileno area, where there will be time to rest, hydrate, and recharge before continuing the adventure.
- Second Stage: The route continues through beautiful lenga forests, combining moderate ascents with flatter sections of trail. Along the way, hikers will cross several streams descending from the imposing Monte Almirante Nieto, surrounded by the untouched wilderness of Patagonia.
- Third Stage – The Moraine: The final section of the trek is the most demanding. Known as “La Morrena,” this rocky ascent climbs approximately 1 kilometer over uneven terrain until reaching the legendary Base Torres viewpoint. Here, visitors are rewarded with the unforgettable sight of the iconic granite towers rising dramatically above the glacial lagoon — one of the most famous and breathtaking landscapes in Patagonia.
- At the viewpoint, there will be time to rest, take photographs, enjoy the scenery, and have lunch before beginning the return hike along the same trail.
- The total trekking experience lasts approximately 8 hours round-trip, depending on weather conditions and the group’s pace.
- At the end of the excursion, we will return to Puerto Natales or Punta Arenas, dropping passengers back at their accommodations. Approximate Arrival Time in Punta Arenas. Around 11:30 PM.

Advance booking is highly recommended. Reservations should ideally be confirmed in advance, with a minimum notice of 48 hours, as this excursion depends on availability at the King Penguin Park, ferry schedules, and daily operational conditions.
Important Recommendation for Passengers:
- Reaching the Base Torres viewpoint will depend on the physical condition of the participants and the weather conditions at the time of the excursion. No refunds will be provided if any participant is unable to reach the viewpoint for these reasons. We strongly recommend preparing in advance with endurance and muscle-strengthening exercises prior to the trek.
- The tour’s finishing time may also vary due to weather conditions; therefore, Our agency strongly recommends not booking this excursion if passengers have a departing flight or bus from Punta Arenas on the same day, or during the early morning hours of the following day, or other important activities on the same day. Return times may vary due to weather conditions, operational availability, or route adjustments. In exceptional circumstances, adverse weather conditions may prevent the return to Punta Arenas on the originally scheduled date. Any additional expenses not included in the program — such as accommodation, meals, flight changes, transportation, or any other costs resulting from these force majeure situations — will be the sole and full responsibility of the passenger.
