Explore the stunning natural wonders of Laguna Cejar, Ojos del Salar, and Laguna Tebenquiche—three breathtaking gems nestled in the heart of the Atacama Desert. Each lagoon offers a unique and unforgettable experience amid the surreal, moon-like landscapes of this extraordinary region.

Laguna Cejar is famed for its crystal-clear, hypersaline waters that make floating effortless—imagine drifting serenely, as if weightless, surrounded by spectacular desert scenery. The striking contrast of the shimmering turquoise waters against the stark white salt flats creates a picture-perfect setting ideal for relaxation and photography.

Just nearby, the mystical Ojos del Salar, or “Eyes of the Salt Flat,” captivate visitors with their deep, mysterious blue pools emerging like hidden jewels from the vast salt desert. These natural springs invite you to dip your feet into their cool, fresh waters while marveling at the breathtaking views stretching endlessly around you.

A short journey brings you to Laguna Tebenquiche, renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and mesmerizing sunsets. Here, flamingos often grace the shallow waters, adding vibrant splashes of pink to the dramatic desert panorama. The lagoon’s peaceful ambiance makes it a perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature’s quiet beauty.

Together, these three lagoons offer an enchanting blend of serenity, wonder, and natural splendor—must-see destinations for any traveler seeking the magic of the Atacama Desert’s unique landscapes.

Itinerary:

Float, Reflect & Connect: The Sensory Side of the Atacama Salt Flat

  • Escape into the White Vastness: Leave the bustle of San Pedro de Atacama behind and journey into the serene, endless white horizon of Chile’s largest salt flat—a place where time seems to beautifully slow down.

  • Effortless Floating at Laguna Cejar: Experience pure weightlessness! Thanks to the extreme salt concentration, you can step into the water and float effortlessly without even trying. Think of the Dead Sea, but surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of desert volcanoes.

  • Discover the Desert Oases: Next, we'll unveil a magical contrast at Ojos del Salar—two surprise freshwater lagoons right in the middle of the salty crust, framed by vibrant vegetation and open skies.

  • The Infinite Mirror of Tebenquiche: Arrive at one of the most visually striking spots in the region. The shallow, still waters create a flawless natural mirror, reflecting the sky, mountains, and volcanoes with surreal precision.

  • Sundown Cocktails & Deep Silence: As the afternoon fades into softer hues and the wind calms, we’ll set up an outdoor happy hour. Sip on delicious cocktails and nibble on local snacks while the desert settles into a profound, magical silence.

  • Unwind & Learn: This is a "less walking, more feeling" kind of adventure. As you soak in the vibes, your guide will share the fascinating geology and ecology behind the salt flat’s formation.

  • The Perfect Acclimatization Start: Because this experience takes place at a lower altitude and follows a wonderfully relaxed pace, it is highly recommended for your first days in Atacama—giving you unforgettable landscapes without the physical strain!
