We will spend time in front of the Great Pyramid of Cheops, allowing you to capture unforgettable photos and live the dream that has fascinated travelers for centuries. In the afternoon, we head to the heart of Cairo to explore the world-renowned Egyptian Museum of Pharaonic Art. Housing an unrivaled collection of treasures, statues, sarcophagi, and jewelry spanning thousands of years, this museum is a journey into the very soul of ancient Egypt. Among its masterpieces are priceless artifacts that once accompanied the pharaohs in their afterlife, offering a breathtaking glimpse into their world. Return to your hotel for an evening at leisure and overnight stay in Cairo.
Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, transfer to Cairo Airport to board your domestic flight to Luxor, the ancient city once known as Thebes, the legendary “City of a Thousand Gates.” This extraordinary destination served as the capital of Pharaonic Egypt during the New Kingdom and today is considered an open-air museum, preserving one-third of all the world’s ancient monuments within its boundaries. Upon arrival, begin your discovery with a visit to the awe-inspiring Temples of Karnak, the largest religious complex ever built by human hands. Dedicated to the supreme god Amun-Ra, this vast sanctuary showcases the Great Hypostyle Hall, a forest of 134 massive columns, each rising proudly to the sky, a true architectural masterpiece that reflects the splendor and spiritual devotion of ancient Egyptian civilization.
Next, continue to the majestic Temple of Luxor, also known as “the Harem of Amun.” Unlike Karnak, which was built as a place of worship, Luxor Temple was designed as a ceremonial center dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship. The two temples were once connected by the grand Avenue of Sphinxes, a nearly three-kilometer-long processional road lined with statues of sphinxes and rams, which has been partially restored and still evokes the magnificence of ancient festivals and rituals. After your visits, transfer to the pier for embarkation on your luxurious Nile River cruise, where you will stay on a full-board basis. Enjoy lunch on board, take time to relax and explore the ship’s facilities, and in the evening savor a delicious dinner while your vessel is moored in Luxor, one of the most magical and historic cities in the world.
Overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Breakfast on board. Today, let your imagination take flight as we journey back more than 3,500 years into the heart of Ancient Egypt. We begin with a visit to the legendary Valley of the Kings, the eternal resting place of the Pharaohs of the New Kingdom. This fascinating necropolis, carved into the rugged cliffs of Thebes, holds more than 63 tombs discovered so far, each one adorned with vivid wall paintings and hieroglyphs that narrate stories of the afterlife. You will have the unique opportunity to explore three royal tombs, witnessing the splendor and mystery that has captivated archaeologists and travelers alike for centuries. Our journey continues to the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of the most remarkable and unique monuments of ancient Egyptian architecture. Rising majestically against the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, this temple is not only an architectural marvel of its time but also a powerful testament to the reign of Egypt’s first great female pharaoh. Its terraces, colonnades, and chapels reflect the genius of ancient builders, making it one of the most photographed sites in Egypt.
Next, we will visit the Madinat Habu Temple, home to the Mortuary Temple of Ramses III. Considered one of the most important religious structures in Thebes, the temple was intentionally designed to echo the grandeur of the Ramesseum. Here you will admire its two imposing pylons, vast courtyards, three hypostyle halls, and even the remains of a jetty and canal once used for sacred processions along the Nile. The temple’s richly decorated reliefs, which recount Ramses III’s victories in battle, are among the best-preserved in all of Egypt. We will end this extraordinary tour with a stop at the iconic Colossi of Memnon—two colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guard over the Theban necropolis for more than 3,400 years. Towering nearly 18 meters high, these silent sentinels are a breathtaking reminder of Egypt’s monumental grandeur.
Return to the ship for lunch on board and begin your sailing towards Esna. Spend the afternoon relaxing on deck as you soak in the enchanting views of the Nile and experience the excitement of passing through the Esna Lock. As night falls, enjoy a delightful dinner on board while continuing your navigation towards Edfu, letting the serene rhythm of the Nile accompany you into the evening.
Breakfast on board. This morning begins with a charming ride in traditional horse-drawn carriages, a nostalgic way to step back in time as you make your way through the streets of Edfu to visit one of the greatest treasures of Ancient Egypt: the Temple of Horus. Dedicated to the falcon-headed god of the sky, protection, and kingship, this temple is not only the best-preserved in all of Egypt but also one of the most complete ever discovered. Walking through its massive gateways, soaring columns, and intricately carved reliefs, you will be transported into the spiritual heart of the Ptolemaic dynasty, where ancient rituals were once performed in honor of Horus. After your visit, return to the ship and continue your sailing journey along the Nile, relaxing on deck as the scenery unfolds around you. Soon, you will arrive at Kom Ombo, home to one of Egypt’s most unusual and fascinating temples.
In the afternoon, explore the Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique double temple built during the Ptolemaic era and later expanded under Roman rule. Unlike any other sanctuary in Egypt, its symmetrical design was ingeniously conceived to serve two sets of gods simultaneously: Sobek, the crocodile god of fertility and creator of the world, and Haroeris (Horus the Elder), the god of light and protection. This rare dual dedication is reflected in every aspect of the temple’s architecture—two entrances, two courts, two hypostyle halls, and two sanctuaries, each mirroring the other. Just steps away, you will visit the fascinating Crocodile Mummification Museum, where dozens of real mummified crocodiles and related artifacts reveal the sacred role these creatures once played in ancient Egyptian religion.
As the day draws to a close, the ship resumes navigation towards Aswan, one of the jewels of Upper Egypt. In the evening, enjoy a lively Galabeya Party on board—a fun-filled night where guests are invited to dress in traditional Egyptian attire, dance, and celebrate in true Nile cruise style. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.
Breakfast on board. This morning is free for you to relax on the ship or, for those who wish, take part in an optional excursion by road to the legendary Abu Simbel Temples—often called the “Eighth Wonder of the Ancient World.” This monumental complex, carved directly into the mountainside, stands as one of the most breathtaking architectural achievements of Pharaonic Egypt. The largest temple is dedicated to Pharaoh Ramses II, the greatest and most celebrated ruler of the New Kingdom, whose legacy has endured for more than 3,000 years thanks to this very site. At Abu Simbel, you will marvel at the colossal statues of Ramses II guarding the entrance, towering over visitors with their timeless majesty. Inside, the temple reveals exquisitely decorated halls and sanctuaries that honored the gods Ra-Horakhty, Amun, and Ptah, as well as the deified Ramses himself. Nearby, the Temple of Hathor, dedicated to Ramses’ beloved wife Queen Nefertari, is no less captivating, adorned with reliefs and statues that celebrate their divine union. Beyond its historical and spiritual value, the site itself is an engineering wonder of modern times, having been relocated stone by stone in the 1960s to save it from the rising waters of Lake Nasser. Today, Abu Simbel continues to awe visitors with the same grandeur and power it projected more than three millennia ago.
Return to the ship for lunch on board. In the afternoon, prepare to discover the jewel of the Nile, the Temple of Philae, often referred to as the “Pearl of Aswan.” Nestled on the enchanting island of Agilkia, this temple complex rises from the waters of the Nile in one of the most scenic locations in all of Egypt. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae is celebrated for its elegant courtyards, magnificent pylons, and delicate carvings that tell stories from Egyptian mythology—legends of Osiris, Horus, and Isis that once shaped the spiritual heart of the ancient world. A visit here is like stepping into a timeless sanctuary where history and beauty converge. The day concludes with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, known in Arabic as Saad al-Ali. This modern engineering marvel, completed in the 1960s, tamed the mighty Nile and created Lake Nasser, forever changing the landscape and economy of Egypt. Its sheer scale and impact mark a striking contrast to the ancient wonders you’ve explored throughout your journey.
