After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin a fascinating tour of Santiago de Cuba, the country's second largest city, known as the Hero City for its role in national history. Situated between mountains and the Caribbean Sea, this city vibrates with music, culture, and tradition, recognized as the birthplace of Son and the Cuban Revolution. The tour begins with a visit to the Moncada Barracks, the scene of the historic assault led by Fidel Castro in 1953, marking the beginning of the revolutionary process. Afterward, you will have the opportunity to visit the Diego Velázquez House Museum, considered the oldest colonial building in Latin America, where you can delve into the city's history since the 16th century. A walk through the lively Céspedes Park will allow you to experience the daily life of the people of Santiago de Cuba up close, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Cathedral and the old City Hall. Later, the route continues to the imposing Castillo de San Pedro de la Roca del Morro, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This 17th-century fortress offers spectacular views of the Caribbean. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, featuring typical dishes that will allow you to savor the richness of Cuban oriental cuisine.
In the afternoon, the tour continues to one of Cuba's most revered places of devotion: the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, patron saint of all Cubans, nestled in a unique and spiritual natural setting. Next, you will visit the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, declared a National Monument, where great figures of Cuban history such as José Martí, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, and Fidel Castro are laid to rest. At the end, you will return to the hotel for overnight stay and dinner. The evening will be free for you to enjoy Santiago's nightlife, famous for its trova dance halls and the contagious musical rhythms that fill every corner of the city.
Holguín: In the Footsteps of History. After breakfast, depart for the city of Holguín, making interesting stops along the way that will allow you to delve into the history and culture of eastern Cuba. The first visit will be to Birán, Fidel Castro's birthplace, considered a place of great historical and cultural significance for the nation. There you will tour the heritage site where the Castro Ruz family home, agricultural facilities, and objects recreating daily life of the era are preserved. The day continues to Cayo Bariay National Monument Park, a historical site par excellence, considered the site where Christopher Columbus landed on October 28, 1492. An archaeological museum is located at this site with a reconstruction of a Taíno village, as described by the Admiral in his diary. You will also visit the 19th-century fort, built by the Spanish army to house the Fifth Battalion of Hunters, responsible for guarding and protecting access to Cayo Bariay. All this is accompanied by a natural landscape of singular beauty, where history, culture, and nature blend.
Lunch at the resort and then continue the trip to the city of Holguín, known as the City of Parks for its abundance of squares and public spaces. Arrival, accommodation, and dinner at the selected hotel within the tourist center.
Holguín – Camagüey. After breakfast, you will begin a panoramic tour of Holguín, known as the City of Parks, where you can admire its unique urban layout, its lively squares, and some of its most emblematic corners. Holguín is distinguished by its peaceful atmosphere and its important cultural heritage, making it one of the most important urban centers in eastern Cuba. At the end of the tour, depart for the city of Camagüey, located in the center-east of the country and famous for its labyrinthine urban network of streets, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. During the journey, you will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. Arrival in Camagüey, accommodation at the selected hotel, and dinner included.
Camagüey – Sancti Spíritus – Trinidad. After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin a panoramic tour of the city of Camagüey, also known as the City of Tinajones (City of the Tinajones), famous for its unique labyrinthine urban layout, designed to protect against attacks by corsairs and pirates. Its winding streets, hidden plazas, and majestic colonial churches give it a very special charm that has made this city a World Heritage Site. Afterwards, depart for the heritage city of Sancti Spíritus, one of the first seven towns founded by the Spanish in Cuba and declared a National Monument. During the journey, you will enjoy lunch in transit at a local restaurant. Once in the town, you will appreciate its historic center, where the Yayabo Bridge stands out, a symbol of the city and the only one of its kind in Cuba, as well as the Main Parish Church and other colonial buildings of great historical and architectural value.
The journey will continue to the charming village of Santísima Trinidad, known as the Museum City of the Caribbean and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Along the way, there will be a stop in the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills), also recognized as a World Heritage Site, where you will visit the San Isidro de los Destiladeros sugar mill. This is one of the oldest and best-preserved sugar mills in the valley and is considered a highly significant archaeological site. There, you can see vestiges of the sugarcane production process, including the house, an imposing bell tower, and other historical structures that reflect the prosperity and economic splendor of the colonial era. Arrival in Trinidad will include overnight stay and dinner at your selected hotel. The evening will be free for you to explore the cultural traditions and nightlife of this unique city at your own pace, where music, art, and history intertwine in a charming atmosphere.
Trinidad – Cienfuegos – Havana / Varadero. After breakfast, you will begin a tour of the charming city of Trinidad, considered the Jewel of Cuba for its extraordinary degree of colonial preservation. During the visit, you will stroll through its picturesque cobblestone streets and admire the architectural beauty that seems frozen in time. Among the attractions included is the Romantic Museum, located in the former Brunet Palace, which exhibits collections that showcase the luxury and splendor of Trinidad's 19th-century aristocracy. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit the traditional La Canchánchara Bar, famous for serving the typical drink of the same name made with aguardiente, honey, and lemon, a cocktail with more than 200 years of history.
The route continues to the city of Cienfuegos, known as the Pearl of the South, a charming place founded by French settlers on the shores of a spectacular bay. This city stands out for its neoclassical architecture, cosmopolitan atmosphere, and unique maritime atmosphere. The tour will take you through its main avenues and iconic spaces, such as Parque Martí, the majestic Tomás Terry Theater, the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, and the Government Palace. Cienfuegos Bay is also home to the largest coral reef in Cuba discovered to date, named Notre Dame, a true natural treasure for lovers of marine biodiversity.
