    Welcome to Costa Rica!!! Today you will arrive in the capital city of San José. There are no activities planned for the first day so we recommend taking a bit of time to settle into your hotel and explore the city. Much of the architecture found here is reminiscent of the elaborate 19th and 20th century architecture found in Spain. The colorful and lively streets area always interesting. You will undoubtedly feel the enthusiasm of the local people as you discover San José for yourself! We can pick you up at the airport and take you to the elegant Hotel Casa de las Orquideas (or similar) or you may choose to arrange your own transportation.

    La Fortuna de San Carlos is one of the main tourist destinations in Costa Rica and Central America. Here you can visit the Arenal Volcano which still glows at night and participate in many other wilderness adventure activities!     A private car or van will take you past many picturesque landscapes before you arrive at one of the most beautiful of all, the Monteverde Cloud Forest Nature Reserve. This spectacular natural area is home to so many unique plants and animals that you can definitely expect to see a creature you have never seen before! While we are here we will stop and take a tour of El Trapiche, a local farm. Try tropical fruits and nuts right off the tree. Enjoy a delicious lunch of local foods. Tonight you will stay at the charming Historias Lodge or a similar accommodation.

    The entire day is at your disposal. Your helpful and informed tour leader will help you arrange any activities in which you would like to participate in advance. Today you can further explore the rare Clod Forest on a guided nature tour, visit the local butterfly gardens, ride the world’s longest zipline, drive an ATV, cross some of the region’s iconic hanging bridges, go horseback riding on tropical trails … the list goes on. No matter what your interests are, there is an activity for you. Spend another comfortable night at your same accommodation.

    After breakfast we will leave Monteverde and head for Quepos! This charming harbor town is one of the most famous locations for big-game sport fishing. After so much time in the rainforest Quepos is the perfect place to experience city-life. There is an active nightlife, plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as fun outdoor activities. Enjoy a luxurious night at the Hotel California or a comparable hotel.

  7. DIA 7(QUEPOS) MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK.

    Manuel Antonio National Park is the most popular national park in the entire country. Here you will find 4 of the most picturesque sandy beaches in the Pacific as well as lush stands of mangroves. Just beyond the calm, coastal area, is the mysterious rainforest. Go on a nature walk or take a swim in the crystal-clear water. If you want a calm experience communing with nature we recommend visiting in the morning or on weekdays! You will once again stay overnight at the Hotel California or comparable accommodation.

    In the morning we will head to the vibrant capital city of San Jose, named after Joseph of Nazareth. You will have the whole day to explore the city on your own! Discover the delicious local foods, do some last minute souvenir shopping, and really appreciate the liveliness of a South American urban center. You will spend your last night at the beautiful Boutique Hotel Casa Orquideas or a similar accommodation.
