The Hotel Ambos Mundos is one of the most renowned hotels in the world due to its close link with the recognized American writer Ernest Hemingway, who lived in this hotel several years of his life. The author, Nobel Prize for Literature, would countless hours in his room 551 where it would be inspired to write such works as "Death in the Afternoon" (1932) and "Green Hills of Africa" (1935). Currently this room is now a small museum in which are preserved some of his belongings.
Its location was one of the main attractions not only of Ernest Hemingway, but also other famous figures who once visited the hotel because it is located in the central street of Obispo, Old Havana. Due to its proximity, you can easily access numerous historic sites, including the Plaza de Armas, Plaza de San Francisco de Asis and the Cathedral of Havana.
The property is a five-story building representative eclectic style of the the early twentieth century and has 52 comfortable rooms with a simple decor and some with a spectacular view of the city. The hotel also has a cozy lobby which is often the scene of exhibitions of works of art. A meeting room with capacity for 100 people allows holding conferences and business meetings. The rooftop terrace is another charming place of the Ambos Mundos, with wonderful views of Old Havana and active cultural life in the streets.
CANCELLATIONS: In case of cancellations less than 7 days prior to the guests' arrival, the hotel reserves the right to charge, as a penalty, 2 nights of the reserved plan.
NO SHOW: In case of No Show the hotel will reserve the right to invoice, as a penalty, the entire stay.
