The Encanto Ordoño Hotel is the tallest building and is located in the town of Gibara, known as "The beautiful pearl of the east", whose historic center was declared a National Monument in 2004, is located 800 kilometers northeast of Havana and from several years ago it has become a place of cultural attraction for being the headquarters of the International Festival of Poor Cinema, where other artistic manifestations that take place there also converge, everything takes on an intense life when it is full of visitors.
Built between 1926 and 1927, this magnificent building, of eclectic style and with three heights, and now converted into Hotel Encanto Ordoño, belonged to the merchant Felipe Ordoño Díaz, who resided in it along with his wife, Isabel Camps, housed for years various dependencies State, among them the remembered Hotel Gibara, which the locals ended up renaming as Hotel Ordoño. The Hotel Encanto Ordoño has been restored as the original with the great splendor of the Spanish colony and was reopened in January 2013.
