VILLA DUABA Camping

Duaba Camping is a country village on the banks of the Duaba River. The rustic structure of its buildings stands out among the different fruit and timber trees. It is characterized by its meticulous and differentiated comfort for a client who seeks to be in the surprising nature of Baracoa, but very close to that enchanted city. It has 20 country-style cabins with a colorful appearance and a flowery garden. Trails, music and vernacular gastronomy.

The Duaba Campground is located 6 km from the city on the Santa Rosa de Duaba road, in the municipality of Baracoa, Guantanamo province, Cuba. It is an easily accessible facility, being only 1 km from the highway.

In a short time, Duaba Camping has become an attractive recreational option for the enjoyment of the people of Baracoa and those who come from other places, especially for those who like to enjoy the perfect combination that our mother nature gives us.

The diversity of its flora is dominated by fruit trees of mango, guava, tamarind, palm trees and cocoa. You can also observe other varieties of plants such as bananillo, ferns, begonias, epiphytes, and pomarrosa, with an evergreen and picturesque lawn that adds beauty to a landscape crowned by the majesty of one of the largest rivers in Cuba, the Duaba, which rises at the foot of the Yunque de Baracoa.

The bathing area for campers is characterized by crystalline and flowing waters with bottoms covered with rounded rocks. Its fauna is abundant with woodpeckers, lizards, butterflies of singular beauty, thrushes, chaos, parakeets, wood pigeons, totíes, crabs, shrimp, dajaos, robalos and guabinas.

Excursions can be made to different places such as the Duaba Monument, excursion to the river waterfall or to the top of the Yunque, led by specialized guides, to get to know one of the most picturesque sites with the greatest biodiversity and endemism of the entire protected area of the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, a site declared by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity. There are some caves in the surroundings, among them the Murciélago (3 kms to the south), Cueva del Yunque, Cueva del Indio, Sumidero I and Sumidero II.
