Urbanism, modernity and comfort distinguish the huge Santa Clara Libre, formerly named Gran Hotel Santa Clara Hilton. Its condition as the highest building in the area, offers the possibility of having the best view of the most populated city in the region. It was built in 1954 with a modern architectural style, breaking ties with the neoclassic and eclectic styles of the Central Park ¨Leoncio Vidal¨ where the hotel is situated.
In the first floor you´ll find the movie theater ¨ Camilo Cienfuegos¨ and in the hotel´s vicinity are some of the most representative buildings like the library ¨ José Martí¨, the provincial radio station CMHW and the Decorative Arts Museum. A few minutes away is located the Ernesto Che Guevara Memorial Complex and the armored train derailed by the rebels during the battle of Santa Clara in 1958.
The installation has a fine restaurant placed in the tenth floor and 2 bars, one of them in the rooftop where you could have some drinks while enjoying the wonderful city view. The hotel´s nightclub is very popular among the locals. The rooms can be catalogued as suitable.
