The beautiful Baron Balbín Palace is shown as a building with a high historical and architectural value, with special recognition by the office of the City Curator. Located in the heart of the city of Cienfuegos, it is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, just 100 meters from the Martí Park and 300 meters from the beautiful bay of Cienfuegos. Hostal Palacio Barón Balbín is beautifully decorated and has a facade with Baroque designs, human figures, lions and garlands. The interiors are covered by ceilings decorated in plaster with frescoes that allude to French romanticism, marble floors and centenary mosaics, and majestic Carrara marble staircase, beautifully decorated screens and elaborate iron grills. The exceptional ornamentation of this building, located in the middle of the uniform and rational web of the city, contains a message of diversity and creativity that makes it a landmark of domestic architecture Cienfueguera. The second level exhibits a free arrangement of its bays with a slight presence of Baroque codes on the cornices and human figures under the central balcony.
