"HAVANA BAY AT NIGHT" Bike Tour

The forgotten part of Havana Bay in the sea of lights of darkness.

The road with our electric bicycles will lead us today, at sunset and through the water, to a partially forgotten side of the vibrant metropolis of Havana, center of Santeria and of the old slave trade. The east of Havana Bay has a particular charm and originality, and is rarely visited by tourists, because many do not even know how to get to this part of the city. Get ready for an adventure with our unusual routes!
This route will flood you with impressions of authentic Cuban daily life. You will be immersed in the world of Santeria imported from Africa by slaves and you will also learn how the metropolis used to defend itself from external attacks in the past. On this other side of the fascinating city of Havana, much of the history has been preserved. Stops at some of the most famous and unknown places will also, of course, be an essential part of this tour. The view of Havana with its sea of lights will fascinate you, the city changes its clothes and you will look totally different.

Itinerary

• Our guide is waiting for us with the electric bicycles, (in the months of April to September at 19:00 h) and (in the months of October to March at 18:00 h) for this night trip, in Calle 21 # 507A entre D y E, Vedado (21st Street # 507A between D and E, Vedado district).
• We will cycle to La Rampa, along the former Habana Hilton Hotel, renamed Habana Libre Hotel shortly after the triumph of the Revolution, and, also passing by the Hotel Nacional, where the mafia felt "at home", we will arrive at the Malecón, which is, according to many, the most beautiful promenade in the world.
• From there, we will go to the Havana ferry dock, where we will take a "Lanchita", as the Cubans to their sea ferries, used almost exclusively by them, in which we will sail to the other side of the Bay. If it's still open, we'll visit the Church of Our Lady of the Rule.
• The impressions we will gather on our way around the Bay to El Cristo will be unforgettable. In the Christ we expects an unparalleled view of Havana at night.
• Before heading to Casablanca to take the boat back, we will be able to see the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, the Che's Command, which still has its original furniture (which at this time we can only see from the outside), as well as the Castle of the Three Kings of the Morro.
• After returning to the metropolis, we will take a snack and continue our journey to the starting point. The Havana will be perceived totally differently, under the moonlight.

• Please, show up in the meeting point 15 minutes before the time to begin the tour.
• The program is subject to change. Visits to the museums depending on the opening hours. Modifications/changes possible, according to the opening hours of the museums. Lunch: Location and time may vary according to the availability.
• All participants must travel with their own personal insurance.
• The guest must have good urban cycling experience. There are no bicycle lanes in Cuba.
• Attenders should can to ride a bicycle comfortably up to 20 kilometers (12.4 miles).
• It is recommended to wear ligh clothing. Sneaker, closed shoes or tennis shoes, comfortable and appropriate for walking outdoors, moon protection, moon glasses. Rain can be expected at any time.
• At the meeting point, we will provide a short introduction to the e-bikes, client’s bike adjustments to each individual height and some general information about the roads and rules of Cuban traffic
