**“CHORRO DE MAITA ABORIGINAL VILLAGE” Tour **

Chorro de Maíta Aboriginal Burial Site: Discover one of Cuba’s most fascinating archaeological treasures at Chorro de Maíta, an extraordinary aboriginal burial site located near Guardalavaca in the province of Holguín. Considered the most important and best-preserved indigenous cemetery in the Caribbean, this open-air museum offers a captivating journey into the life, culture, and spiritual world of the island’s first inhabitants.

Walk through an immersive archaeological complex where more than 100 excavated human remains reveal the burial rituals and social structure of the Taíno people who lived here centuries before the arrival of the Spanish. The site features meticulously reconstructed scenes that bring pre-Columbian Cuba to life, complemented by detailed explanations from local guides who enrich the experience with historical insight. Just steps away, explore the Aldea Taína, a recreated indigenous village designed to represent daily life in a native settlement. Here, lifelike figures crafted by Cuban artists depict traditional customs, craftsmanship, cooking methods, and spiritual practices, offering a unique window into ancestral Caribbean culture.

Chorro de Maíta is a must-see for travelers interested in history, archaeology, and cultural heritage. It is an unforgettable experience that connects you with Cuba’s ancient roots while surrounded by the natural beauty of the Holguín region.
