Vegas Grandes - Salto Caburní is a beautiful route through the park of Tope de Collantes that joins two of the most outstanding points, it goes into the jungle landscape of the Escambray mountain range with the possibility of escaping from the heat in the multiple pools and the river Vegas Grandes and Caburní. The Caburní waterfall is one of the most famous in Topes de Collantes, but the Vegas Grandes waterfall is not far behind. This route stands out among the most interesting offers for adventure tourism in central Cuba. The complexity is usually high because the terrain on which you walk has an inclination of 45 degrees that make the journey half walk, half climb to the second highest waterfall in Cuba. You will also be able to relieve the fatigue of the road in a natural pool that will be revitalizing.
The Caburni Waterfall: Reaching the impressive Caburni Waterfall, through the exuberant nature, is a journey of almost 50 minutes with only 5 kilometers round trip from the hotels in the area, ideal for experienced hikers, it requires a high level of effort due to the irregular relief. From its almost 65 meters high, the Salto del Caburní falls into the emptiness of the Caburní River, making its way through the rocks to flow into pools of crystalline waters at different levels. The Vegas Grandes Trail, located in the Topes de Collante Natural Park, is one of the essential places for nature tourism in Cuba. The entire Vega Grande Trail with inclined areas and slopes that will make the climb and hike through a kind of jungle canyon more complicated, covers a distance of approximately 1500 meters to walk and you can discover a wide variety of endemic birds of Cuba.
