Jeep Safari "NATURE TOUR MATANZAS"
Born as San Carlos and San Severino de Matanzas, today simply Matanzas, it was founded in October 1693 in an area of breathtaking beauty, in a wide and deep open bay, located between the mouths of the Yumurí, San Juan and Canímar rivers. Today it is a city and municipality of Cuba, capital of the province of the same name. The city of Matanzas, which sits on the shores of a bay of calm waters and on rolling hills that cross three rivers, is defined by several names, since its birth in 1693, "Sleeping Beauty", "The Cuban Venice" for its bridges or the "Athens of Cuba", land of poets. Matanzas is also known as "The city of bridges", because it has more than twenty of them throughout its territory.
Matanzas is located about 100 km east of Havana and 40 km west of Varadero. The city is located in an eminently flat region, its maximum altitude (the Pan de Matanzas) reaches only 389 meters above sea level in the Alturas Habana-Matanzas.
