La Mensura-Pilotos National Park is a relevant protected area located in the Mayarí municipality of Holguín province, in the Nipe Mountains, belonging to the Nipe-Cristal Mountains Region of the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain massif and has a territorial extension of 8486 ha. It owes it's name to the existence within it's areas of two important geographic features: The 1st Piloto River that rises in the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa Mountains and runs 37 km long and the 2nd: The Loma de Mensura very close to the town of Alto Cedro with a height above sea level of 995m, being the highest altitude of the Nipe mountain range. Because of it's important values of vegetation, flora and fauna rich in local endemics, it was officially declared a National Park in 2008. It is an ideal national park for lovers of hiking and outdoor life.
Itinerary:
- Jeep 4-by-4 pick-up at the hotel,
- Driving through dirt roads in 4x4 jeeps while enjoying panoramic views of the Santiago de Cuba,
- Departure from Santiago de Cuba towards the La Mensura National Park. Located in the Sierra Cristal. Panoramic tour to the Salto del Guayabo through the sugar region of Julio Antonio Mella town and then get into the enigmatic places in the mountainous region of Pinares de Mayarí,
- Visit to the Conjunto Histórico de Biran Museum.
- Arrival at the Salto del Guayabo, enjoy a delicious Cuban coffee, tour of the facility, visit to the viewpoint,
- Enjoy a refreshing swim in the Guayabo river,
- Creole lunch at the Pinares villa with a drink included and free time,
- Return to Santiago de Cuba. Taking the road from Puerto de Boniato, to enjoy the stunning scenery that form the valley of the city, surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra Maestra and the Caribbean Sea,
- Arrival to the city of Santiago de Cuba, at approximately 17.30 hrs.

- This tour operates with a minimum of 2 passengers. Holiplus will reconfirm 48 hours before the departure of your tour. If the provider decides to cancel, for reasons of force majeure or adverse weather conditions, Holiplus will offer an alternative tour or fully refund cost of your trip.
- The collected may be delayed up to 15 minutes depending on the number of hotels and punctuality of customers. Customer should be informed on sales desk to avoid disagreements.
- Level of complexity: Low.
- The Jeep must be shared with other tourist (4 pax / jeep).
- Those who wish to drive must bring their driver's license.
- Jeeps have standard transmission.
Cancellation Policy
- In case of cancellation up to 72 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 10% of the excursion fare will be charged.
- Regarding cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fare will be applied.
- Cancellations reported within 24 hours before the departure time and No-Show (no presentation at departure time), a penalty of 100% of the excursion fare will be applied.
- Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
