Géisers del Tatio, geothermal center of the Atacama Desert, is the largest group of geysers in the southern hemisphere and the third largest in the world, providing a unique natural spectacle to the visitor. Also, visit Machuca, a small settlement of llama herders in the north of the country.
Itinerary
- Departure from San Pedro de Atacama, at dawn towards it reaching 4,320 meters above sea level.
- Visit to one of the most important geothermal fields in the world, the Géisers del Tatio. In this place we will observe different geothermal manifestations during the morning, thanks to colder and more extreme temperatures that will allow us to appreciate great columns of steam.
- Then, we will move to the sector of the rustic well to enjoy a refreshing bath in thermal waters.
- On the way back, we will stop for a few minutes at the Putana wetland, where it is possible to appreciate different species of birds in front of the Colorado volcano.
- The last stop of the trip is in the town of Machuca, where the original Altiplanic architecture of its church is reflected.
- Return to the hotel.
