The Elqui Valley, formerly also called the Coquimbo Valley, is a watershed located in the province of Elqui, Coquimbo Region, in Chile. The main river of this basin is the Elqui, which is born from the confluence of the Claro and Turbio rivers, both coming from the Andes mountain range, and flows into the Pacific Ocean, some kilometers north of the city of La Serena.
Itinerary
- Departure from La Serena, towards the Elqui Valley, visiting some picturesque villages full of charm and traditions.
- We will learn about the process of elaboration of pisco and we will taste exquisite varieties.
- We will learn about the life and work of Gabriela Mistral.
- We will have lunch in a restaurant in the town of Vicuña, enjoying its exquisite cuisine.
- We will also get to know the derivatives of copao and papaya.
- At the end, return to the hotel.
