Havana – Tradition, History, and Living Culture. After breakfast and hotel pickup, depart for the heart of Old Havana, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The first stop will be the Rum Museum, where you'll have the opportunity to learn firsthand about the production process of one of the island's most iconic rums. In addition to discovering its origins, visitors will understand why Cuban rum, with its quality and tradition, is considered one of the most prized in the world. The tour continues on foot through the most iconic squares of colonial Havana: Plaza de la Catedral, with its imposing Baroque temple; Plaza de Armas, the historic and political center of the city during the colonial period; and Plaza de San Francisco de Asís, overlooking the port and Cuba's maritime history. Afterward, walk along the famous Obispo Street, a vibrant artery filled with shops, galleries, and cultural life, to the legendary Floridita Bar, the birthplace of the Daiquiri and one of Ernest Hemingway's favorite spots, where you will sample this classic Cuban cocktail. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, where in addition to a typical Cuban dish, you will also enjoy a refreshing Mojito, another of the most internationally recognized cocktails.
In the afternoon, the tour will continue aboard classic vintage cars, a symbol of Havana's identity, for a panoramic tour of Fifth Avenue, the Havana Malecón, the imposing Plaza de la Revolución, and a visit to the historic Hotel Nacional de Cuba, an architectural gem of Cuban hospitality and a witness to important political and cultural events. As a finale, visit Callejón de Hammel, the epicenter of community art and Afro-Cuban religious syncretism, where you can appreciate murals, music, and cultural expressions that reveal the influence of Africa on Cuban identity.
