Cienfuegos – The Pearl of the South. Departure for the charming city of Cienfuegos, popularly known as The Pearl of the South for the elegance of its urban layout and the charm of its neoclassical architecture. Founded by French settlers in the 19th century, this city offers a cosmopolitan and distinctive atmosphere that makes it one of Cuba's most unique cities. During the tour, you'll appreciate its straight streets, tree-lined avenues, and monumental buildings that reveal the European influence in their design. Cienfuegos is located on the shores of a spectacular bay, home to the largest coral reef discovered in Cuba to date, named Notre Dame, a natural gem that further enriches the region's appeal. You'll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and have free time to explore the city at your leisure. Afterwards, weather permitting, you'll have the opportunity to take a boat ride around the bay, a unique experience to see the city from another perspective and enjoy the serenity of its waters. During the tour, you'll visit the majestic Palacio del Valle, one of Cienfuegos' most unique buildings. Its eclectic architecture blends Mudejar, Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical styles, making it a true cultural icon of the city. Cienfuegos – Rancho Luna Beach – Trinidad. After breakfast at the hotel, around 10:00 a.m., we depart for Rancho Luna Beach, one of the most beautiful and tranquil beaches on the Cienfuegos coast, known for its clear sands and transparent waters. Nearby is the Cienfuegos Dolphinarium, where you will have the opportunity to witness a marine show and, if you wish, have the unique experience of interacting with dolphins (except on Wednesdays, when it is closed).
The day continues to the historic city of Trinidad, also known as the Jewel of Cuba. This town, founded at the beginning of the 16th century, is a true architectural treasure that preserves the splendor of the colonial era and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1988, as one of the most complete and best-preserved colonial urban complexes in the entire American continent. The walking tour through its cobblestone streets will allow visitors to admire the red-tiled houses, colonial mansions, and squares steeped in history, giving them the feeling of having traveled back in time to the 18th and 19th centuries. At the end of the tour, you will have free time to stroll at your own pace, visit galleries, purchase handicrafts, or simply soak up the city's bohemian atmosphere. Return to the hotel, dinner included, and a free evening to enjoy the cultural and leisure options Trinidad has to offer.
Trinidad – Valle de los Ingenios – Santa Clara – Selected tourist destination. After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the Valle de los Ingenios, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988. This valley was, between the 17th and 19th centuries, one of Cuba's most important sugarcane centers and the scene of Trinidad's economic splendor. The visit focuses on the ruins of the San Isidro de los Destiladeros sugarcane mill, one of the oldest in the area and considered the most complete and best-preserved archaeological site in the valley. In addition to the hacienda house and the unique bell tower, which once served as surveillance and control over slave labor, you can see the remains of other facilities that were part of the sugarcane production process. Its historical and architectural value makes it one of the most important heritage sites in the area. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterwards, continue the tour to the city of Santa Clara, located in the heart of Cuba. There, you will visit the Ernesto Che Guevara Mausoleum Plaza, an imposing monumental complex that pays tribute to the life and work of the Heroic Guerrilla, one of the most charismatic and influential figures in contemporary history. This space also houses the Museum and Memorial, which house testimonies, artifacts, and documents related to Che Guevara and his comrades in arms.
At the end, ground transportation will take place to the selected tourist destination, departing from the Hotel Horizontes Los Caneyes.
