Among the attractions of the Hotel Horizontes Soroa in the province of Artemisa is a cultural project located in a community known as Carambola.
The Cultural Project "The Mountain and I" arises from a research work of several promoters who wanted to figure out how was the life of our ancestors, say the black slaves, Maroons and peasants who lived in the region mainly in the area of difficult access in the mountains through history, recreating their way of life, customs, habits and traditions.
The development of traditional artistic manifestations such as: the tenth, traditional popular music, crafts, clothing, plastic arts, culinary art in terms of the original methods that emerged from the time of the Spanish colony, as a result of the process of transculturation and that have lasted until today in this part of the Candelariense geography, inspired the idea of this project. It is a community work of a group of people who dedicate time and space to the cultivation of traditions in order not to lose the path of knowledge of where we come from.
The patio is the place where all these activities take place, it has a Traditions Corner which has a collection of about 1000 pieces among them, tools and means of work, objects of domestic use, among others, that show how the way of life was long ago. Craftsmanship plays an important role in this place, since craft workshops are held with children and people of all ages in the community. The culinary art is the main attraction of the place through the elaboration of food and drinks of Cimarrón and Mambí origin. If you wish, you will have the opportunity to taste these types of foods and drinks. Tea, infusions and home remedies are also made from medicinal plants that can be found in a small nursery, so that people can learn the value of natural medicine.

Cancellation and No Show Policy:
- In case of cancellation up to 96 hours before the start of the excursion, no penalty will be applied to the price of the tour.
- Regarding cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the departure time of the excursion, a penalty of 50% of the excursion fare will be applied.
- Cancellations reported within 24 hours before the departure time and No-Show (no presentation at departure time), a penalty of 100% of the excursion fare will be applied.
- Booking fees and credit card surcharges cannot be refunded in case of cancellation.
