The Loma de Cunagua is the main elevation of the province of Ciego de Avila, also known as the Sierra de Judas de La Cunagua, site of important archaeological discoveries and converted into an ecological reserve since 1985, with an area of 2,742 hectares. It has an elevation of 338 meters above sea level, extends in the form of an oval chain, occupying an area of 24 square kilometers. It is a protected natural area. The ecological characteristics of the zone condition the existence of a Fauna with high endemism, which makes of the place a natural laboratory of relevance, to count with representativeness of reptiles and birds, among these the Tocororo, the Cartacuba and the Green Woodpecker and the Jabao Woodpecker. The Loma de Cunagua is located about 18 km east of Morón, in the province of Ciego de Avila, Cuba. You will be able to see it as you pass along the road to Bolivia, since it rises like a gigantic mountain in the shape of a termite mound that stands out in the plain. The Loma de Cunagua is an ideal natural site for lovers of hiking and ornithology. Nature and adventure jeep tour through the Great Wetland and mountainous areas with great biodiversity of both flora and fauna, with excellent scenic views located in the great wetland of northern Ciego de Avila, visiting different natural sites, population settlements, cultivated areas, and important elements of biodiversity and landscapes in the Protected Areas, as well as a peasant farm and a crocodile breeding farm in the city of Morón. Visit to La Redonda Lagoon, an adventure of aquatic nature in boats through the wonderful ecosystem of mangroves that make up the "Laguna La Redonda".
