Salar de Atacama, is the largest salt flat in Chile and one of the most surprising landscapes in the country, its surface is white and rough and hides a large salt lake from view, this place has the National Reserve Los Flamencos, one of the most important in the country.
Within this trip, we will travel along a path to the Chaxa Lagoon, located in the Salar de Atacama, an ideal place to appreciate the rich existing fauna.
Miscanti and Miñique Lagoons, located in a beautiful environment where the beauty of its blue waters, born from the thawing of the volcanoes with the same names, stands out.
Itinerary
- Departure from the hotel in San Pedro de Atacama towards the international road, where we will visit the Salar de Atacama.
- Visit to the area known as Soncor and the Chaxa Lagoon where you will see 3 species of pink flamingos.
- Then we will go into the Altiplano, reaching 4,300 meters of altitude, where we will visit the Miscanti and Miñique lagoons.
- Lunch in the town of Socaire, in one of the rustic kitchens of the place, kitchens that, nowadays, base the obtaining of resources through ancestral cultivation terraces.
- Finish your trip in the town of Toconao, where we will visit the main square, the bell tower built in 1750 with adobe and cactus wood, and the church of San Lucas, both declared National Monuments since 1951.
- Return to the hotel.
