“ATACAMA SALT FLAT & TOCONAO ON MOTORCYCLE” TOUR

The National Reserves undoubtedly stand out for the natural beauty they protect and the flora and fauna that are often in danger of extinction. The Salar de Atacama is part of one of these, concentrating an important number of colonies of flamingos, which make this excursion one of the favorites of visitors.

Salar de Atacama, is the largest salt flat in Chile and one of the most surprising landscapes in the country. Its surface is white and rough and hides a large salt lake from view, this place is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve, one of the most important in the country.

The town of Toconao is located at 2,475 meters above sea level, where you can find the Church of San Lucas with its small bell tower, made of adobe and straw.

Itinerary

• Departure from San Pedro de Atacama, we take a transfer that will take us to the base located 6 km to the south where we will find our motorcycles to begin the journey through the roads of the pre-Andes mountains.
• Visit to the town of Toconao, of colonial Andean style with white stone architecture, in the middle of an impressive oasis.
• We continue on our way to the National Reserve "Los Flamencos", in the heart of the Salar de Atacama and visit the Chaxa Lagoon of incredible scenic beauty.
• Once the tour is over, we return the motorcycles and take the transfer back to our hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.

Motorcycle tour participants require a valid motorcycle license and a minimum age of 25 years.

• Motorcycle rental, gasoline, all equipment (helmet, pants, jacket, boots and gloves), entrance fees to all attractions.
• Mechanical support of the vehicle.
• Transfer to and from hotel.
